The Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) is an international organization established by a formal agreement among 16 heads of governments in 2007.
ERIA works closely with the ASEAN Secretariat, member countries, and international research institutes to carry out academic research and policy recommendations.
In 2023, ERIA launched a new center Digital Innovation and Sustainable Economy Center (E-DISC) with the support of Japan.
Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, E-DISC is committed to building a strong and responsible digital transformation in ASEAN & East Asia.
E-DISC will facilitate collaboration, knowledge sharing, and transformative initiatives that aim to harness the power of digital technologies for sustainable economic growth, social development, and environmental stewardship.
E-DISC priorities are:
- Digital trade: using technology to bolster digital goods and services, Global Value Chains, and e-commerce;
- Data governance: developing unified rules and cybersecurity measures; and
- Innovation and entrepreneurship: empowering small and inclusive businesses and startups through technology and innovation.
